2026 Spring Newsletter

Updated: 2 days ago

Greetings from the Officers of Your Council!

Honoring 250 Years of Service and Nation

Last year we celebrated our Marine Corps’ 250th Birthday, and this July we look forward to celebrating our Nation’s 250th. Throughout this history, Marines have risen to every challenge and served our country and its people with great distinction.

Our Council remains committed to recognizing these contributions, honoring those who serve, and supporting Marine Corps organizations across the state of Oklahoma.

Annual Meeting

Date: April 24th, 2026

Time: 1800

Location: Eddie’s Chisholm Creek, Edmond, OK (near Cabela’s)

We encourage all members to attend. Since the COVID‑impacted years, attendance has not returned to pre‑COVID levels, and we would truly appreciate your presence. This meeting provides an opportunity to stay connected and enjoy camaraderie with fellow Marines.

Members are welcome to bring friends who may be interested in joining the Council or learning more about our mission. If you have not received your invitation please check your junk mail or contact us at marine@oklahomamarines.org to update your information and RSVP.

Volunteer Opportunities

Two years ago, we asked for volunteers willing to take a more active role in the Council, and several Marines stepped forward. If you would like to be more involved, we would welcome your participation.

Our annual luncheon is a significant undertaking, and additional support is always helpful. To volunteer, please contact the Officers at: marine@oklahomamarines.org

Continuing Our Mission

Despite leadership changes, the Council continues its long tradition of supporting the Marine community. Our efforts include:

  • Sponsoring family days for local units

  • Supporting JROTC shooting and drill competitions

  • Presenting awards for superior performance, including Community Service, Marine of the Year, and NCO of the Year

  • Recognizing top recruiters from Recruiting Station Oklahoma City

We remain steadfast in our mission to honor and support Marines across Oklahoma.

Annual Contributions

Thanks to generous members and our Corporate Sponsors, the Council remains financially sound. However, general member contributions have declined in recent years.

Historically, we have asked members to consider a $100 annual contribution to support our mission. If you are able, we ask that you make an annual donation. All contributions are tax‑deductible.

Annual Luncheon Update

Planning for this year’s luncheon is underway. We are evaluating a new venue to help manage costs and broaden our options for a Guest of Honor. Once plans are finalized, we will notify all members.

Thank You

Your support makes all our efforts possible. We are fortunate to have many generous and faithful donors and sponsors who enable our continued service to the Marine community in Oklahoma.

Thank you for your commitment, and we hope to see you at the Annual Meeting.

Semper Fidelis,

Anthony J. (AJ) Johnson

Colonel, USMC (Ret)

President, US Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Oklahoma, Inc.
